    1. Attend a “never-before-experienced” religious service different from your own affiliation (e.g., church, temple, mosque, synagogue)
    2. Attend a diversity or vulnerability workshop that is open to the public (e.g., Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, Overeaters Anonymous, or another group.Links to an external site.
    3. Attend a cultural festival or cultural community event
    4. Attend a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and/or questioning, intersex, asexual/aromantic/agender LGBTQIA+ or PRIDE function or event
    5. Actively volunteer at a soup kitchen, local food bank, or shelter (and not just attend and observe).
    6. Attend Mothers Against Drunk Driving®️ (MADD) or MADD DADS function or event (e.g., victim impact panel)
    7. Attend a neurodiversity event (e.g., Special Olympics, a community center for persons with mental or physical disabilities, local Autism networks)
  2. Download the Diversity Experience Paper templateLinks to an external site.. Use of the template is required. A 10% deduction will be applied if the template is not used. See the rubric. Save the template and include your name in the file name.
  3. Reflect on your diversity experience and follow the APA Scholarly Writing Paper template instructions to complete the paper.
  4. When complete, save and close the template. Click the Submit button at the top of this page to upload your completed assignment.
  5. Correctly cite and reference ideas and information from scholarly literature.
  6. Follow grammar, spelling, word usage, and punctuation rules consistent with formal, scientific writing.
  7. Abide by Chamberlain University’s academic integrity policy.

    2. Explain how attending the group experience influenced your awareness and understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals within that group in one paragraph. Include what impact it had on your perspective.
    3. Describe the emotions and reactions you experienced during the group experience in one paragraph. Include if these emotions impacted your learning and engagement with the group and what implications they have for future interactions with individuals from this or other marginalized groups.
    4. Discuss ways the group experience enhanced your empathy and cultural competence in one paragraph. Include how these insights can be applied in your personal and professional interactions.
  5. Action Plan 
    1. Explain how attending this group experience influenced your commitment to advocacy for this or other marginalized groups in one paragraph.
